Meet the Dentist

dr. bob leardiThe oldest of nine children, Dr. Leardi grew up in Springfield, PA (Delaware County). He graduated from Cardinal O’Hara High School and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Villanova University in 1989. Dr. Leardi graduated from Temple University School of Dentistry in 1994 with his Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD). Upon graduating from Temple, Dr. Leardi began treating patients in a large dental practice in Media, Pennsylvania.

After practicing for a few years, an opportunity presented itself in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, which is where he opened his own family dentistry practice on December 1st, 1998. He started with two dental chairs, a sterilization area, and a few patients who had followed him. His practice has since continued to grow. He credits this to the wonderful staff whom he has the pleasure of working with and who share his goals. The goal of Dr. Leardi’s team is to provide their patients with the finest dentistry available. Dr. Leardi is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and averages over 35 hours of continuing education per year.

He and his wife, Sue, are the proud parents of five children. He also has two dogs, Kahlua and Canyon. He loves the outdoors and is an Eagle Scout. He volunteers as a soccer coach for the Southern Chester County Soccer Association in which all of his children are involved. His hobbies include karate, sporting clays, golf, and spending time with his family. And in the doctor’s own words…

…and the rest of the staff

When you see an office with many long term employees, it becomes apparent that there is an environment that is conducive to learning, fun, and mutual respect. Our staff is professionally trained, caring and courteous.

Hygiene Department

rhondaHi, my name is Rhonda Molin. I’ve been in the dental industry for 35 years, and I’ve been with Dr. Leardi for nine years. I graduated from Temple University’s School of Dental Hygiene in 1980, and received continuing education at the Dawson Center, which is the premier authority in occlusion in the U.S. I like being in the dental industry because working one on one with patients gives me personal satisfaction. I am married to John Molin, a local mushroom grower, and we have three grown children. We live in West Grove, where I enjoy gardening and decorating.   My best dental tip to my patients: Watch what you drink! Almost all beverages except water are acidic and bring us much business!

Mary PatMy name is Mary Pat Gearhart and I have 26 years of dental experience. I’ve worked mostly in pediatrics and family practice. For six years I worked in Washington D.C., which was very exciting! I’ve been with Dr. Leardi for six and a half years, and started out as a patient! I attended the University of Cincinnati in my hometown and am the proud mother of two children. Griffin is thirteen and Maggie is nine. We live in the village of Unionville, and my children are in the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District. My husband Scott is very involved as a URA baseball coach. I like being in the dental industry because we make people smile! My best dental tip to my patients: Floss, floss, floss!

JacquiHi, my name is Jacquie Fitchett.  I’ve been in the dental industry for 8 years, and I’ve been with Dr. Leardi for 8 years. I graduated from St. Marks High School, took some pre-law courses, and then went on to graduate from Dental Tech’s program for Dental Assisting. I’m also PA State certified for radiology. I am married to Dr. Michael Fitchett, a chiropractor, and we live in Nottingham with our son Lucas. We have two other children as well. Our daughter, Dr. Jenna Fitchett-Ennis, is in practice with her father, and our son Tim lives in Portland, Oregon. I love boating on the Chesapeake Bay, and attending mixed martial art events.  I like being in the dental industry because I learn something new from my patients and from the technical aspect of my job. My best dental tip to my patients: Invest in an electric toothbrush and floss!

Susan LeardiMy name is Susan Leardi. I’ve been in the dental field for eleven years and love every aspect of it. Teeth are so interesting! I went to high school at Padua Academy and on to Immaculata College where I received degrees in Business and Fashion Merchandising. I was assistant manager at Talbot’s Clothing Store, then manager for The Wilmington Country Store. I am married to a wonderful guy (definitely my favorite dentist!) and live in Lincoln University with our five beautiful children. In my spare time I enjoy running, playing outside with our children, camping, canoeing…basically, all types of outside activities. My best dental tip to patients: Use the Sonicare to clean your teeth at home. Also, use a mouth guard at night to stop TMJ!

virginiaI’m Virginia McDonald and a newcomer to the dentistry field. I joined Dr. Leardi’s practice after attending Dental Careers Institute’s training program in Kennett Square. I enjoy working with people and believe taking care of your oral health is very important. I want to help in the maintenance of people’s smiles. I am married and have six wonderful children; the two youngest are twin girls, and 4 boys. I live in Lancaster County. In my spare time I like to exercise, catch up on my reading and spend time with my kids, watching their sports events. My best dental tip to patients is to deep a regular hygiene routine going at home. It helps keep cavities to a minimum and definitely see a dental hygienist for cleaning twice yearly.

Office Staff

PattyHello, my name is Patty Vanover and I am Dr. Leardi’s Office Manager. I have a B.A. in Business Administration and Fashion Merchandising from Immaculata. I’ve been in the dental industry for four years, and only with Dr. Leardi. Previously I worked for 13 years in Divisional Senior Management for Bloomingdale’s. I really enjoy the office environment at Dr. Leardi’s. The great thing about being in the dental industry is we teach and educate patients on their dental care, which helps their overall healthcare. I am happily married for 20 years, have four wonderful children, and currently live in West Grove, PA. In my spare time, I love being with my growing, active family. I also like gardening, walking two miles a day and practicing the art of photography.

JaneHi, my name is Jane George.  I have been with Dr. Leardi for two years, and in the medical field for about 20 years. I attended Penn State University, where I obtained a degree in Hotel and Food Service. I like being in the dental field because we have such nice patients. It is so rewarding to see finished results on patients who have major dental work done. I am married to Robert George, and we have lived in the Kennett area for over 20 years. We have four grown children and three terrific grandchildren. In my free time, I like to knit, read and take care of 50 orchids!

StephanieHello, my name is Stephanie Traver, and I am new to the dental field. I’ve been with Dr. Leardi for a few months, and I enjoy working with him very much. I attended Patton Middle School, Unionville High School, and the University of Delaware. I am married and have three daughters, two in high school and one in kindergarten. I like to spend time with my family, especially in Ocean City, MD. I also love to run with my running group at the Kennett YMCA. I like being in the dental industry because teeth are important!
